EeRS Update 11th March 2024
EeRS is a new electronic referral system that is looking to be introduced in the Coventry and Warwickshire area with a planned roll out date of May 2024. The implementation will be phased with a few optometry practices going live initially with this growing over several weeks.
EeRS is a web-based system which allows optometrists to electronically and reliably refer patients directly to secondary care with evidence that a referral has been made and sent. As it is a web-based system, practices will need a suitable internet connecting device with suitable internet connection.
As it goes live for local hospitals it will quickly become the best and expected way to refer our patients to ophthalmology.
