Vision Care for Homeless People – Brighton Service
7 June 2023
Please see below for some information regarding the Vision Care for Homeless People – Brighton Service.
***********************************************************************************************
As a charity, we provide free eye tests and glasses for homeless people across the country and have, in the last few weeks, reopened our eye clinic located at the First Base homeless centre in Brighton.
To provide a little more information, we currently run our clinic once a week on a Friday morning until early afternoon and are looking for volunteer optoms and DOs / optical assistants to help us. We are also looking for a Clinic Manager to oversee the clinic which would be a regular commitment every week. In relation to the optom and DO roles, we often ask for a commitment of once a month or once every six weeks (although if people can do more frequently, that would also be brilliant).
You can find out more about the work we do here: www.vchp.org.uk
All of our volunteering opportunities are listed on our website and if anyone is interested in volunteering, they can submit a very short online form using the ‘tell me more’ link. Please click here for the link.
With many thanks and best wishes
