In Sussex we have Translation and interpreting – NHS Sussex (ics.nhs.uk). Please see below for details taken from the website.

All GP practice, pharmacy, optometry, dentistry and community audiology sites now have access to the same high quality interpreting and translation services with include:
•       Face to face, telephone and remote community language interpreting
•       Face to face, telephone and remote British Sign Language (BSL) interpreting (including Signlive on demand BSL interpreting)
•       Translation services including BSL videos, Braille and Easy Read
•       Bilingual Advocacy

Staff at NHS Sussex also can utilise these services by getting in touch with sxicb.involvement@nhs.net to arrange service provision.

Face-to-face and remote/ video British Sign Language, Lip reading and non-spoken interpreting services for people with sensory needs
Signlive is an on demand BSL service available to all GP practices (with Pharmacy, Optometry, Dentistry and Community Audiology sites going live in Spring 2023).
Patients can contact their practice through the community directory, which will connect them to a BSL interpreter before connecting the call.
Clinical staff can also call patients:
•       Call 0800 802 1125
•       Enter the patient’s signlive 4/6 digit extension number then press #
•       Enter your organisation’s unique account number then press #
•       The call will connect you to a SignLive interpreter, who will make the outgoing call to your Deaf customer
