Pre-Cataract Assessment (Integrated Cataract Pathway)

The Pre-Cataract Assessment Service aims to:

· Confirm the presence of cataract in line with referral criteria

· Support shared decision-making with patients

· Confirm that the patient wishes to proceed with cataract surgery

· Improve conversion rates to surgery

Post-Cataract Assessment Service

The Post-Cataract Service provides follow-up care within primary care settings for suitable patients following cataract surgery.

The aims of the service are to:

· Provide post-operative assessment for uncomplicated cataract surgery patients

· Improve patient convenience through primary care community based follow-up appointments
