Medical Retina Enhanced Imaging Referral Service (Volumetric OCT)

The Medical Retina Enhanced Imaging Referral Service supports the early identification, assessment, and appropriate referral of patients with suspected retinal pathology. using volumetric Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT).

The pathway is designed to improve the quality of referrals into Hospital Eye Services (HES),  and enable earlier detection of potentially sight-threatening retinal disease within primary care.

Patients identified during a routine GOS or private sight test who require enhanced retinal imaging may be referred into the pathway for further assessment.
