Hampshire LOC warmly invites all Hampshire & Isle of Wight NHS GOS Contractors, Optometrists, Dispensing Opticians, and Contact Lens Opticians to join us for this year’s Annual General Meeting and CPD Education Evening.

We are delighted to be returning once again to the Solent Hotel & Spa for an in‑person event.

Is That a Dry Eye I Spy?

Discussion Workshop – 3 CPD points (Optom / IP Optom / CLO / DO)

Ocular Surface Disease often requires prompt diagnosis and clear communication of management strategies. This interactive workshop uses a quiz‑style format to explore real‑world patient case scenarios. By analysing signs and symptoms, participants will consider appropriate investigations and potential management approaches for each case.

Speaker:  Alexander Thornton BSc (Hons) MCOptom DipTp(IP) Prof Cert Med Ret Prof Cert Glauc
IP Optometrist & Optometry Professional Affairs Liaison, Scope

Alex specialises in dry eye and ocular surface disease and runs a dedicated dry eye clinic alongside his work in independent practice in South Wales. He also supports practitioners nationally through his role with Scope.

Additional CPD Opportunity – 1 Point
Participants may also complete Friday Night Specials, a visual‑recognition quiz accessed via QR code. Designed for DOs and Optometrists, it features presentations commonly seen in high‑street practice that may be managed outside the consulting room.

Scope will also host a resource stand throughout the evening should you wish to browse materials or ask questions.
