Reminder: Primary Eyecare Services – Feedback Survey

New Provider in Hampshire: AlphaSiGHT Southampton

We are pleased to share that AlphaSiGHT Southampton has been commissioned by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB as a new Independent Sector Provider for glaucoma services. They are now accepting new routine referrals, with appointment availability currently around 2–4 weeks.

AlphaSiGHT will also be offering free CPD events for Optometrists.

Surrey LOC & SEON Vision – CPD Event

Surrey LOC and SEON Vision are hosting a comprehensive CPD evening on Monday 13 April 2026 at Ripley Village Hall, Woking. The event includes a series of consultant‑led lectures followed by an interactive case‑based discussion workshop.

Event schedule:

  • Doors open: 5.30pm
  • Registration & dinner: 6.00–7.00pm
  • Lectures & workshop: 7.00–9.00pm
  • Close: 9.30pm  

Topics Inlude:

  • The impact of corneal and ocular surface health on cataract surgery
  • Eyelid lumps and bumps: identification and management
  • Updates in modern glaucoma management
  • Medical retina and uveitis

The evening will be delivered by a multidisciplinary consultant team and offers 2 interactive CPD points for Optometrists, CLOs and Dispensing Opticians.

Direct Referral Options for Glaucoma and YAG – SpaMedica

SpaMedica has shared updated information on direct referral pathways for glaucoma services and YAG laser capsulotomy. Practices can refer patients without using the Single Point of Access, helping to streamline the process and reduce administrative workload enabling “timely access to specialist‑led care without unnecessary delays”.

Patients can be referred directly to SpaMedica sites across Southampton, Portsmouth, and the Isle of Wight for glaucoma assessments and rapid YAG treatment.
