PCSE Online Update: User Role Management Changes Coming This December

From 11 December 2025, Primary Care Support England (PCSE) will be changing how user roles are managed within PCSE Online. This update will affect all primary care organisations using the platform.

What’s Changing?

PCSE will no longer manage individual user roles beyond assigning the User Administrator role. From this date forward, each organisation will be responsible for managing its own user access—creating, updating, and removing roles as needed.

This change aims to:

• Enhance security and reduce the risk of unauthorised access

• Improve compliance with audit standards

• Streamline internal processes and reduce reliance on PCSE

What to Expect Next:

PCSE will be contacting organisations directly with tailored guidance based on whether they currently have a User Administrator in place. These communications will cover:

• How to assign or request a User Administrator

• What responsibilities the role entails

• Where to find support and guidance materials

Practice and Practitioner Accreditation and Compliance in Your Area  

We would like to make you aware that Primary Eyecare Services is currently undertaking a review of accreditation and compliance in your area.

This is to ensure that all practices and practitioners hold the necessary accreditations required for the delivery of enhanced NHS eye care services. Maintaining up-to-date accreditation records is a contractual obligation and a key part of our clinical governance framework and our reporting to commissioners helping to assure service quality, patient safety and equitable delivery standards across the network.

Practices that have not yet submitted the required documentation will be contacted directly on Wednesday, 12 November and asked to provide evidence of compliance by 30 November 2025.
