CPD Provision

The LOC considers one of its key roles to be the provision of CPD. As such for the past few years the it has been agreed at the AGM to assign a budget of £5000p.a. for this, as well as selecting a CPD officer.

CPD is vital to maintain and improve standards in the delivery of optometry services, as well as being a requirement for registration with the General Optical Council.

Providing CPD has also helped the LOC to engage with its constituents.

Workforce Development

The Regional Confederation coordinates a regional Workforce Development Project which awards grants to local optometrists engaging in further training. Details are available here.
