We are a confederation of LOCs in the West Midlands which comprises the following LOCs:
Birmingham LOC
Dudley LOC
Sandwell LOC
Solihull LOC
Walsall LOC
Wolverhampton LOC
Over the years we have worked closely together and this close working has greatly aided the commissioning of services in optometry practices locally. With the advent of ICBs with larger footprints, we have formed a confederation to give our optometry constituents a stronger voice. Optometry has much to offer and we want to drive that forward, improving patient care.
GERS GERS (Glaucoma Enhanced Referral Service) is active in the Black Country. This means all patients with a Black Country GP suspected of having glaucoma should be referred via GERS.
