Low Vision Services

Please find below the Low Vision provision for West Sussex

Queen Victoria Hospital East Grinstead
They have a monthly clinic provided by Collison Opticians under a sub-contract.  The clinic only sees QVH patients and does not accept outside referrals.

Surrey and Sussex Hospital
GP or consultant referral service and people do not have to be registered to access the service.

Subcontract by 4Sight Vision Support in Crawley and Horsham Hospitals

Western Hospitals
The Low Vision Service is provided by local opticians through the redemption of a Hospital Eye Scheme voucher.

There are criteria in place to receive the voucher (patients must be in the catchment area for St Richards or Southlands Hospitals and must be certified as SI (Sight Impaired) or SSI (Severely Sight Impaired) or have visual acuity (VA) of 6/18 or worse in both eyes).

Princess Royal Hospital
No Hospital LVS is provided

 4Sight Vision Support
This is not a commissioned service.  4Sight provide Low Vision assessments to anyone ineligible for any of the above services, where there is no service provider or where patients choose to use our services instead of accessing their local low vision service.

 WSCC – Rehabilitation Officers for the Visually Impaired (ROVI)
They do not currently provide LVS, unless the client has additional social care needs.
