Children, young people and vulnerable adult safeguarding training is recommended for all healthcare professionals, including dispensing opticians.

Safeguarding is an area of competence within the GOC Standards of Practice 2.11. The full CET competencies for dispensing opticians, contact lens opticians and optometrist can be accessed on the GOC website.
