SeeAbility:
SeeAbilities aim is to support people with learning disabilities or autism who may have vision needs and sight loss. People with learning disabilities and those who are autistic are ten times more likely to suffer from sight loss.
Their mission is to challenge inequality and transform lives for people to achieve more than they thought possible.
SeeAbility have created many tools to aid those with learning disabilities to access eye care as well as forms and support tools optometrists can use to make visiting an optical practice more accessible for those with additional needs.
SeeAbility is a registered as the Royal School for the Blind and is one of the oldest disabilities charities in the UK having pioneered support for 225 years.

These include “About me and my eyes” forms that patients can take to their optometrist to tell them about their needs, to “results of my eye test” that an optometrist can fill in explaining the results, to “making an eye test easy” on how adjustments can be made to make having an eye test more comfortable as well as where they can find an optometrist.
