Community Urgent Eyecare Service (CUES)
The Community Urgent Eyecare Service (CUES) provides urgent assessment, treatment or referral for sudden onset eye problems such as flashes, floaters, vision loss or minor eye injuries.
- Red or painful eye or eyelids
- Recently occurring flashes and floaters
- Recent and sudden loss of vision
- Foreign body in the eye

Enhanced Cataract Referrals
The Enhanced Cataract Referral Service is provided in community optometry practices for patients identified with cataract following a sight test where referral is being considered.

Glaucoma Referral Filtering:
Glaucoma Repeat Readings (GRR)
Patients registered with a GP in an Integrated Care Board that commissions a Glaucoma
Repeat Readings Services.
• Patients 18 years of age or over.
• Sight test IOP ≥24mmHg and <32mmHg with no other signs of glaucoma.
• Visual fields at sight test suspicious for glaucoma with no other signs of glaucoma.
• Patients referred to service by a health care provider or eye care navigation service (where this is locally commissioned).

Glaucoma Enhanced Referral (GERS) AKA (ECF) Enhanced Case Finding in Staffordshire
Sight test findings suggestive of glaucoma, including:
o Optic nerve head changes
o IOP ≥ 24mmHg but less than 32mmHg
o Glaucoma-typical visual field defects
o Narrow anterior chamber angles
o PDS/PXF with IOP < 21mmHg
• Do not require urgent assessment
