What is the Community Urgent Eyecare Service?

The Community Urgent Eyecare Service (CUES) provides urgent assessment, treatment or referral for sudden onset eye problems such as flashes, floaters, vision loss or minor eye injuries.

CUES practices use a triage form to decide if a patient needs CUES. If you wish to get a better idea of the conditions covered you can read it here.

What if a patient contacts the practice with signs or symptoms that indicate CUES but my practice doesn’t offer it?

If a patient contacts a practice with sign/symptoms that suggests the need for CUES and that practice doesn’t provide CUES they should signpost to a practice that does  and tell them to act immediately to contact that practice.

To find a practice they can go to https://primaryeyecare.co.uk/ and click on “find a practice”

I am considering joining the CUES scheme, what is the next step?
