Cataract and YAG referrals
In the area covered by the confederation, the best way to make a cataract referral is directly via the Opera platform. This allows easier selection of patient choice, a fee for the practice and the possibility of post-op in the practice which also attracts a fee (depending on provider). Safety Netting
It is good practice to ask the patient to contact your practice if they haven’t heard in the expected time frame and document this on your record. If a patient contacts you then you should endeavour to chase the referral with the hospital. Contact details for each hospital are available by clicking on the relevant local provider below.
