Cataract and YAG referrals

In the area covered by the confederation, the best way to make a cataract referral is directly via the Opera platform. This allows easier selection of patient choice, a fee for the practice and the possibility of post-op in the practice which also attracts a fee (depending on provider).  For more information about the scheme please email Wasim.Sarwar@primaryeyecare.co.uk

Safety Netting

It is good practice to ask the patient to contact your practice if they haven’t heard in the expected time frame and document this on your record. If a patient contacts you then you should endeavour to chase the referral with the hospital. Contact details for each hospital are available by clicking on the relevant local provider below.
