Important Information
Implementation of the Electronic Eyecare Referral System
across the Northwest region
***NOW LIVE***
Dear Colleagues,
Important Update: Northwest EeRS Rollout – NOW LIVE
We are pleased to be able to confirm that the Optical EeRS project across Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside, and Lancashire and South Cumbria is now LIVE!
Over the past few months, we have worked towards finalising the rollout of this project and would like to thank you all for your support and patience.
We believe the implementation of the Electronic Eyecare Referral System via the OPERA system for GOS18 referrals will result in a more efficient, safety-controlled workflow for referrals which will guarantee each hospital receives the referral and will create a fully integrated approach to eyecare provision across Primary and Secondary care across the Northwest Region.
As a Practice, we hope you and your practitioners have now onboarded onto the OPERA system, however if you haven’t done so yet, don’t worry, you are still able to do this, please follow the link below, to the online tool which will provide you with all the information you require to action this:
You can access the online tool on this link: https://e-referral.education/
Alongside onboarding, the tool fully explains the referral process from start to finish, so if you are on OPERA and not viewed this yet, please do so. We have built this tool to support you and your Practice to engage in the process and be fully equipped with everything you need, so for any queries this is your first point of call.
Please note you will need to register your details on the tool to gain access.
In addition, further information and support guides are also available on the dedicated help area hosted on the OPERA website, this can be found here: https://help.optom-referrals.
Should you have any queries about this service or require any support at all, please do not hesitate to contact us, on the details below:
