Vacancy for LOC secretary

This interesting position has become available as the present holder is retiring from the role. It provides a rare opportunity to continue the development of optical services in Bucks and Milton Keynes.
The position consists of management and secretarial support to the Local Optical Committee (LOC), including communication between the LOC and NHS England, CCGs, hospital trusts, and the optical bodies.
It also involves communicating with the providers of optical services in Bucks.
The following attributes are desirable:
- An interest in the development of the optical profession locally
- Ability to work from home
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Good IT skills (word processing, spreadsheets & email) and internet access
- Experience in website management (WordPress)
- Flexible working and ability to attend daytime and evening meetings
- Experience in the optical profession
This is a self-employed position, paid at an hourly rate. Average hours are expected to be around 37 per month, but this is likely to vary considerably, depending on local and national circumstances.
The position involves home-based working, with attendance at meetings across Buckinghamshire and in Milton Keynes, and occasionally outside this area.
