EyeV update, LOC AGM and CPD, FODO News

We have 4 items for you today:
- Herts LOC / EyeV / ICB update
Anita, Herts LOC’s South and West Lead, writes:
“Jane (LOC Chair) and I met with Adam (EyeV) and Uchenna (ICB), on behalf of Herts LOC, to discuss the referral platform (Single Point of Access – SPoA) used in South & West Herts. The ICB confirmed it has been requesting that GP practices ensure that all Personally Identifiable Data (PID) such as patient telephone numbers and email addresses, are up to date. The aim of this is to reduce the number of referrals rejected by EyeV when the patient details we have in practice, do not match those recorded by the NHS.
Adam (EyeV) is currently working on some updates to the SPoA which are due for release in June/July. These should make the platform quicker to load and improve the ‘trackability’ of your referrals. This will, in turn, allow the patients to contact providers directly rather than the practices asking for updates via EyeV.
The ICB are also discussing with the NHS e-Referral Service (e-RS) how to improve patient choice when phoning the booking helpline number 0345 608 8888. This digital platform is used to refer patients to service providers and should allow patients to book, change or cancel hospital appointments. Historically, it has had mixed success for South & West Herts patients and we look forward to the ICB improving this service for us.
EyeV offers the patient a choice of provider, usually within a 14 mile radius of their postcode. However, if it offers one of the ISPs such as SpaMedica, who have several sites outside of the 14 miles, it may also offer those sites too, which then increases the patient’s number of choices over and above the normal five.
Finally, in order to make PID (Personally Identifiable Data) such as NHS numbers visible on EyeV, and in preparation for joining The Central East Integrated Care Board (ICB), practices have a mandatory duty to be DSPT compliant. This requirement also applies to any transfer of patient data including via NHS mail and other providers’ portals.”
