  1. Knebworth CPD Event is Now Peer Review – Places Still Available

    BiB have advised that their CPD Event, “OCT Biometry and Myopia Management” has been accepted by the GOC as a Peer Review for DOs and Optoms. The event will include an exhibition from various suppliers, with food and a chance to network and chat, with the lectures themselves starting at 7pm. Further information can be found on their flyer HERE, and registration is HERE. Herts LOC will be there too!
  2. Covid and Flu Jabs
    A Joint Statement from the College, AOP, FODO and ABDO can be found HERE advising that the Flu and COVID autumn vaccine programmes are being  brought forward, although start dates for our COVID vaccinations have not yet been given. Regarding Influenza, the statement advises “Practices (contractors) should make arrangements with their local pharmacy or occupational health provider so that all members of the practice team have access to the influenza (seasonal flu) vaccination in a timely manner. Sector bodies have called on NHS England to fund this and will continue to do so, but at this stage contractors and locums will have to fund this directly.”

  4. Domiciliary Update – Making Changes to PVNs
    PCSE have issued an update HERE regarding Pre-Visit Notifications which, they say, will to help ensure the GOS 6 claim for a patient is successful.
  5. Making Accurate Claims in England
    This useful guide to GOS vouchers, entitlements and claiming, produced by the AOP and supported by ABDO and FODO, was updated in 2022. Anyone who does not have a copy, or is using the previous version from 2018, should download and read the newer version HERE.
