The key services included within the contract are:
- A Community Eye Service – CES (similar to MECS, for recent onset ocular symptoms). The service includes an Independent Prescribing option.
- Pre-cataract referral assessment
- Glaucoma referral filtering – glaucoma repeat readings and enhanced case finding.
All Optometrists providing the service must have completed Accreditation and OSCEs for MECS and Glaucoma

We’re pleased to advise that Primary Eyecare (ELC) Ltd in conjunction with NEL LOCand ELCI LOC are running WOPEC MECS OSCE sessions on Sunday 18th January at Spa Medica Romford.
These sessions will be free and open to all members working in either the East London & City area or the North-East London area. Priority will be given to those delivering MECS in the area. Kindly book at your earliest opportunity to avoid disappointment.

Copies of your WOPEC MECS online modules certificates will be required before your place can be confirmed. If you have not completed these modules, you can request a unique access code by emailing
