GOS Claims held process, FODO News and Merry Chirstmas!

12 February 2025

We have 4 items for you today:

  1. GOS Claims Held Process

The ICB advise that they are contacting Contractors who have been affected by an issue around GOS1 claims, where there has been a legitimate early test but they have not been paid by PCSE and remaining as “pending”.  They are working on a solution but have said that, in the meantime, affected Contractors are being contacted to notify them of which claims are being held, and the process required to get them paid.

If you are sent a list of these GOS claims by the ICB, it is in your interest to process the request in a timely manner, prior to the deadline they will advise you of in their email, in order to get the claims paid as soon as possible.

We have advised the ICB that putting the onus on contractors to process these claims is not ideal, but they are unable to suggest an alternative process.

They say that only Contractors who have GOS1 claims held for this reason will be contacted. Other unpaid GOS claimed can’t be cleared using this process, unfortunately, but we are here to support you if you are having major issues with the PCSE, ICB or similar.

The ICB assure us that dealing with this list of claims should not be an onerous task but if you have been advised that you have a significant number of claims, or have other concerns and queries around this, email us at admin@hertsloc.org.uk and we will forward your query to the ICB.

  2. PCSE Ophthalmic Bulletin
PCSE’s latest bulletin can be found HERE, including the new Early retest codes, Pre-visit notifications best practice and CPD update. Further information on the early retest codes can be found in an update from OFNC, HERE.

Is HERE, including GOC business regulation consultation, Important: CPD window closing – time to reflect and other Sector news. Their update from 13th December is HERE, including New study highlights defective eyesight among UK drivers, FODO CPD and GOC updates.
  4. Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

Kind regards
