End Of CET Period, Collecting LFTs And FODO News

We have 3 items for you today:

1. End of CET Period and GOC Christmas Hours
   The current CET period ends at midnight on 31st December 2021.
   You are reminded that you will need to accept any outstanding points by then. This is the final year of this 3 year cycle, the new cycle will become Continuing Professional Development  (CPD) in 2022. You can can still do CET for this period IF the provider can upload the points in time for you to accept them before the deadline. Further information, including Christmas opening times, is advised by the GOC, as follows:
   
   
   
   The GOC will be closed from 5pm on 24 December 2021 until 9am on 4 January 2022. During that time the GOC will be unavailable to provide assistance with any website issues. However, the MyCET portal will still be open to allow you to upload any outstanding points, until midnight 31 December 2021, when the cycle will close.
   
   
   
   The CET portal will be closed for important maintenance from 1 January 2022 to 17 January when the new CPD portal will launch.

2. Collecting Lateral Flow Tests from Pharmacies
   As you are aware, individuals must now order their own Lateral Flow Tests (LFT). If collecting from a pharmacy, the NHS says:

   “There is a new way to collect rapid Covid-19 tests from Pharmacies.

   Before visiting the pharmacy, use this new service to get a collect code.

   You will need to show this code to your pharmacist when you collect your test packs.

   Visit gov.uk/get-collect-code for more information and to get your collect code.”
