Important Message from LOCSU: e-RS Update
8 July 2026
Dear all,
Please see below for an email from LOCSU regarding the rollout of e-RS.
Kind regards,
Bexley, Bromley and Greenwich LOC
Dear LOC colleagues,
LOCSU have been made aware that some practices and LOCs have been approached by their ICB to support NHSE in finding volunteer practices to help inform future improvements and refinements to the e-RS system.
Following consultation with OFNC, our advice is to pause/defer participation in this activity until national (OFNC/Department/NHSE) discussions are completed. This is consistent with all other e-RS messaging.
We express sincere thanks to all LOCs who are ensuring we are sighted on local conversations; your timely information and upholding of consistent messaging is incredibly helpful.
We do understand the balance LOCs are working hard to strike – retaining/building local ICB relationships whilst being mindful of the important national discussions for the benefit of the whole profession.
It is for this reason we suggest a message of pause to allow the national discussions to conclude rather than simply declining. Providing the same consistent approach sends a strong national message.
If you, your LOC, or your practice is invited to volunteer to help shape e-RS, please notify LOCSU at info@locsu.co.uk (marked FAO CEO).
LOCSU and OFNC remain ready to support LOCs in local e-RS discussions; please do not hesitate to reach out for assistance on this or any other matter.
Thank you for all your work and vigilance at this busy time.
