Cataract Referrals
All cataract referrals in Oxfordshire are processed through a single point of access (SPOA) that is accessed via Rego. This service is provided by Ufonia, an autonomous telemedicine company that conducts clinical conversations with patients over the telephone in plain English using an autonomous system named Dora.
Direct referral to independent service providers is no longer possible for patients registered with Oxfordshire GPs, and all referrals should be processed through Rego.
Once you have referred your patient, you can tell them to expect a call from Dora. They should get a text advising when the call will take place – usually giving around 48hrs notice, but once they have received that text they can call Dora at any time that suits them up until the time of their appointment.
