Chair : Michael Round


Michael qualified as an Optometrist in 2000 and has mostly worked in independent practice in the UK since then, apart from a two year spell working for a multiple in Australia.

He joined the LOC in 2016 with an interest in commissioning new enhanced services for patients across Oxfordshire and remains keen to ensure the services that are in place are utilised for the benefit of all patients.

Treasurer : Carly Warner


Qualifying in 2017 as a Dispensing Optician, Carly has worked in a variety of multiple and Independent Opticians.

Starting her journey with Oxfordshire LOC on the education subcommittee, she has taken on a new challenge as the Treasurer.

Her interests in Optics include myopia management and visual stress solutions.

Social Media & Education : Hayley Brunsden


Having served as Chair, Hayley recently stepped down to focus on her new practice.

Her leadership and commitment have been remarkable in advancing our initiatives, especially the extensive hours and effort she devoted during the pandemic.

We are all immensely grateful for her contributions. Her boundless humour and energy have driven significant changes during her tenure.

Mahin Ali


Mahin moved to England in 2010 from Canada to pursue his dream of becoming an optometrist, Graduating in 2012 from Aston University. He also holds a BSc in Optometry and Retail & Business degree from York University in Toronto and Dispensing Optician Licence.

In 2020 he took on the role of Director of Specsavers in Bicester and they expanded to Kidlington in 2022. In 2023 Mahin joined the LOC as a contractor and holds the Vice Chair role for Specsavers the region in South London

He is passionate about improving in all aspects of his life. His hobbies include cooking, sports and travel, with a particular interest in experiencing new cultures. Family means everything to Mahin.

He decided to join the LOC to help improve Optometry for both today and the future.
Bridget Annor

Bridget Annor


Bridget is an optometrist with experience working alongside some of the UK’s top optometrists and consultant ophthalmologists in various settings, including independent practices, multiples, and domiciliary locations.

Bridget has extensive experience and particularly enjoys working with children and the elderly. She takes great pleasure in ensuring her patients leave satisfied and smiling. Her service is known for its warmth, friendliness, and professionalism

Bridget studied Biomedical Science at King’s College London and Optometry at City University, London. She has also volunteered her time and expertise to provide critical eye care and glasses to rural communities in Africa at no cost. In her free time, Bridget enjoys reading, cooking, and traveling.

Nimesh Desai


Nimish graduated from City University in 1990 and has been the director of Specsavers Opticians and Audiology in Banbury since 1993. In addition to working at the Oxford Eye Hospital as a Specialist Optometrist. He has three grown up children and enjoys travelling, running and keeping fit and active. During his spare time he also works as a Community First Responder for South Central Ambulance Service.

Nadia Wong


Nadia’s journey into optometry began after completing her degree in Neuroscience, where her passion for human biology inspired her to pursue a career in eye care. She initially worked as an optical assistant, where she soon discovered her enthusiasm for the profession. Motivated to develop her skills further, she qualified as a dispensing optician before continuing her studies to become a fully qualified optometrist.

Nadia values the opportunity to support her local community and is excited to contribute to the committee, where she hopes to make a positive difference to fellow optometrists and their patients.

She places great importance on maintaining a healthy work–life balance. Outside of practice, Nadia enjoys spending time with her young daughter and husband, often exploring the outdoors together and cycling as a family.
