IMPORTANT YOU WILL LOSE ACCESS TO YOUR NHS MAIL ACCOUNT
20 March 2025
Unless you set up the Multi-factorial Authentication (MFA) before the 26th of March 2025!
This is important especially if you don’t use their NHS mail account very often.
It is very straightforward to do on a computer.
Once logged in to NHS mail, find Profile and then the Self Service tab.
There you can enable MFA.
NB: You will need to put the Authenticator app on your own personal mobile phone. It is quite straightforward, you just follow the series of QR codes on the computer screen to download the correct app. And the link to work prompt.
The LOC have received reports that some people with ‘work mobiles’ have struggled to add the Authenticator app so you may need to speak to your IT if you’d rather use this. Therefore, you may need to keep your personal mobile on the desk, but out of the way of patients in the test room because the MFA doesn’t give much time to hunt for your phone out of a bag/locker before timeing out.
There is also an option to verify using a text or phone call but some people may have difficulty with phone signals if their practice is inside shopping centers.
