2021 Annual General Meeting
15 May 2021
The Annual General Meeting of the Norfolk & Waveney Local Optical Committee will be held on Zoom at 7:30 p.m. on 23rd June 2021.
Members wishing to join the AGM must email the meeting facilitator Linda Vernon-Wood at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 21st June 2021, to receive an invitation and link to join the meeting.
Each year one third of the Committee is required to stand down by rotation which, this year will leave four vacancies. The retiring committee members are eligible to stand for re-election but there is also an opportunity for registered optometrists and dispensing opticians in Norfolk & Waveney to contest the vacant positions. There are proposals for major changes to the way in which health care will be delivered over the coming years which have been outlined in The Department of Health & Social Care White Paper “Working together to improve health and social care for all” . These changes will have a profound impact on eye care provision, therefore it is imperative that the LOC is involved in local discussions. Now is the time for members to participate in these discussions and help determine the future of their profession by joining the LOC . The Nomination Form to stand for election must be completed and submitted before 31st May 2021.
The AGM will be followed by presentations from a LOCSU representative and Bridget Hemment of NNUH on “Eyelid Lumps and Bumps”. (CET points applied for)
