Practice and Practitioner Accreditation & Compliance – Update from Primary Eyecare Services
Primary Eyecare Services has shared an important update regarding practice and practitioner accreditation and compliance.
To deliver enhanced NHS eye care services, all practices and practitioners must hold the necessary accreditations. Keeping records up to date is both a contractual obligation and a vital part of clinical governance, ensuring service quality, patient safety, and equitable standards across the network.
*Most practices and practitioners have already updated their accreditations.
*A small number remain outstanding.
Those who have not yet submitted the required documentation will receive a final notice requesting evidence of compliance by 5 January 2026. Failure to provide this will result in restricted access to the OPERA IT system, meaning they will be unable to deliver enhanced eye care services.
Support is available – practices and practitioners can contact: centraloperations@primaryerecare.co.uk
