Regional Optical Conference November 2024

Brent and Harrow constituency was represented by committee officers at the Regional Optical Conference on 21st November 2024.
Chair Nehul Shah, Treasurer Shushmita Dattani, and Secretary Rajiv Shah attended this event hosted by LOCSU.
LOCSU supports Local Optical Committees (LOCs) across a range of activities including commissioning guidance, policy development, governance and compliance support, education and communications.
Regional Optical Conferences are one-day events in each of the seven regions across England and form part of LOCSU’s support. LOCSU ran all seven conferences between the 12th and 23rd November 2024.
The ROCs temporarily replaced the National Optical Conference. The NOC normally takes place in November but will next be hosted in May 2025.
Each ROC was built to reflect each region’s preference, priorities and needs, including CPD and networking opportunities.

OFNC Statement: NHS disregards evidence and imposes more real terms cuts on GOS
Today the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has confirmed it will impose yet more real terms cuts on NHS primary eyecare services.
