Minimising Sight Loss: Overcoming the Obstacles Event
13 May 2022
This is an online event on 1st July 2022, held by NHS England and NHS Improvement eye care pathways improvement programme, the National Eye Care Recovery and Transformation Programme (NECRTP).
About the Event
There is now a wide awareness that eye care is a high priority area, being the specialty with the highest hospital outpatient activity and undertaking the most common operation, cataract surgery. This event is an opportunity for you to join colleagues across England to help accelerate recovery of eye care services.
Although there has been great improvement in surgical waiting times for cataract recently, with real improvements in efficiency and patient experience, our real safety concern is around delays for outpatient care for long term conditions which can lead to permanent loss of sight. We have heard about the numerous difficulties in achieving on the ground change and now want to have a real and effective dialogue about how we can overcome these, at every level from provider, through system and regional to national, and co-develop a plan for action based on what will actually deliver on the ground change, so that the clear vision we have can be implemented.
How to Join
